LCSW, PLLC
Graduate of the Immigration Evaluation Institute

As a licensed mental health clinician, I am dedicated to providing mental justice and wellness to individuals, families and communities. I have specific experience working with immigrants and victims of domestic violence, as well as advanced training in providing psychological evaluations for immigration cases.

I offer a welcoming space where you can unpack your feelings and embark on a healing path and impart with you, your partner(s), and/or family a safe, inclusive, and engaging experience.

I utilize a culturally-centered, trauma informed, anti-oppressive practice via a strengths based approach so that we as a community can reclaim and experience transformative healing.

Colibri Wellness is owned and founded by Denise Serrato, LCSW, a first gen P’urhepecha, Zacatecana, Huasteca and Chicana Psychotherapist who was born and raised in East Los Angeles and the SGV area in California.

PhD, LCSW
Graduate of the Immigration Evaluation Institute

I provide specialized mental health evaluations for immigration cases, including hardship waivers, VAWA, T-visas, U-visas, and asylum. As a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in trauma-informed care, I approach each case with professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and accuracy. These evaluations go beyond paperwork—I work to understand each person’s history, the effects of trauma, and how these experiences relate to their legal case. I prepare thorough, objective reports and collaborate closely with attorneys so that clients’ circumstances are represented clearly and effectively. My goal is to ensure clients feel heard, respected, and supported throughout the process.
